Transparent pricing — every job, fixed price.

You see the price before you confirm. The invoice matches it exactly. No hourly billing, no on-site additions, no ambiguity.

How your price is calculated

Three components, all visible to you, none variable after confirmation.

Component 1

Base rate by job type

Each service category has a calibrated base rate reflecting what qualified professionals earn in the Porto market. Plumbing starts at €45. Electrical at €55. These are market-tested, not arbitrary.

Component 2

Complexity multiplier

Estimated from your job description and optional photo. A simple tap washer scores 1.0×. A complete bathroom retile scores higher. The multiplier adjusts the final price proportionally and is shown before you confirm.

Component 3

Travel adjustment

Porto city centre: no travel adjustment. Outer municipalities in Greater Porto (Espinho, Póvoa de Varzim): a flat supplement disclosed upfront. Never added after confirmation.

Monthly subscription or joining fee

No subscription fee or joining fee during the current launch period. The 15% platform fee is deducted before weekly payout. Professionals see a full earnings breakdown in the app.

Pricing questions

If the job takes longer than estimated, that extra time is absorbed from the professional's margin — the homeowner pays the confirmed price only. This is the fixed-price guarantee. The only exception: if the professional discovers additional scope that is genuinely different from the original job, they must present it as a new booking, which you can accept or decline.
If you cancel more than 2 hours before the booking window, you are charged nothing. Within 2 hours, a €10 late-cancellation fee applies. If work quality is poor, contact us within 48 hours and we investigate. Confirmed poor workmanship leads to a free rectification visit, not a cash refund (the job must first be done correctly).
Cancellations more than 2 hours before the window: free. Within 2 hours: €10 late-cancellation fee. If the professional does not show: no charge to the homeowner at all.
Yes. All prices shown are VAT-inclusive for homeowners. The price you see is the price you pay. Professionals receive a VAT breakdown in their earnings statement for tax reporting.
Yes. At the booking confirmation screen, you see: base rate, complexity estimate, travel adjustment (if any), and total. After the job, your digital receipt shows the same breakdown.
OSCAR professionals are not permitted to revise the confirmed price on-site for original-scope work. Any additional work must be submitted as a new booking through the platform. If you report an on-site price revision attempt, the professional is reviewed immediately. This is a zero-tolerance policy.
